EverythingTenerife is a travel blog about holidaying in south Tenerife. We keep data collection to a minimum. This policy explains the little we do collect, the cookies the site uses, and the advertising and affiliate links you will find here.
Information we collect automatically
When you visit the site, our hosting provider records standard technical details in its server logs, including your IP address, browser type and the time of your visit. This happens on almost every website and is used only to keep the site stable and running.
We also run a security firewall called Wordfence, which checks visitor IP addresses against lists of known malicious bots and hackers to protect the site from attacks.
Cookies
A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device. This site uses two kinds.
Strictly necessary cookies keep the site loading safely and working as it should. These are always on, because the site cannot function properly without them.
Non-essential cookies come from the advertising service described below. If you are in the UK or EU, these only load once you have accepted them through the cookie banner shown on your first visit. You can change or withdraw that consent at any time.
Advertising
We use Google AdSense, a third-party advertising service, to show adverts on the site. Google and its advertising partners use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. These ad cookies only load after you accept them through the consent banner.
You can turn off personalised advertising in your Google Ad Settings, and opt out of third-party advertising cookies through Your Online Choices or the Digital Advertising Alliance. For a full account of how Google handles data from sites that run its services, see Google’s privacy policy and its partner sites page.
Affiliate links
Some of the tours and activities we recommend link to GetYourGuide. If you book through one of these links, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. GetYourGuide may set a cookie to record that you arrived from our site, so the booking is credited to us. We never see your personal or payment details. GetYourGuide handles any data you give it during booking under its own privacy policy.
How we share data
We do not sell, rent or trade your data. The limited data described above is handled by the companies that provide these services, our hosting provider, Wordfence, Google and GetYourGuide, each under their own privacy policies. We do not pass your details to anyone else.
Your rights
If you are in the UK or EU, you have the right to ask what data is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how it is used. Because we hold almost no personal data, there is usually little to act on, but you can contact us using the details below. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office if you are unhappy with how your data has been handled.
Children
This site is aimed at adults planning a holiday and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Accuracy of our guides
We work to keep the guides accurate and current, but travel details change quickly. Opening hours, prices, and whether a restaurant, bar or tour is still running can all change without notice. Always check directly with the venue or provider before making a trip or a booking. Tours booked through affiliate links are subject to the provider’s own terms and conditions. We are not responsible for changes made by third-party businesses, or for any loss that follows from out-of-date information.
